Installing DAD4.6 manually (Windows 7 and 8)

  1. DAD’s “.jar” file runs with JVM 1.4.1. To install JVM 1.4.1 on your PC, download install the package j2re-1_4_1-windows-i586.exe. After that, try to find where the package is installed, and where the javaw.exe application is situated (in general: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\j2re1.4.1\bin).

 

  1. Download the file DAD46_2010.zip, unzip directly and copy the folder in C:\Program Files.

 

  1. Edit the file C:\Program Files|DAD46_2010\JExpress\DAD2010_46.properties with notepad or a textpad editor, and the update the last line by indicating the emplacement of the application javaw.exe (see (1.)) and save the file: for example:

             execFilename=C\:\\Program Files (x86)\Java\\j2re1.4.1\\bin\\javaw.exe

 

  1. Now, double click on the file C:\Program Files\DAD46_2010.exe and check whether the DAD is launched.

 

  1. It is suggested to create a shortcut for the DAD46_2010.exe command to launch DAD from for instance the desktop.
